A path of Discovery - Part 2 - the Abandoned Home

Along the way up to Pennsylvania, there were no less than eight or nine various older homes that had long been abandoned, that caught my eye alongside the road.
I've driven through this state once or twice before, never having stopped much.

The one below was the second one I came along in Indiana. The floor didn't look too stable, so I didn't want to proceed into it. There were no "No Trespassing" signs posted, and it actually looked like most of the rest of that area along that dirt road had been as ignored as this house, save for a few head of cattle nearby that even hinted at any humans having been around recently.

I got out to get a few photos for later reference usage, and I really wanted to get in there. One could see a lot of left over things in there, tables, chairs, some covered in cloths, and lots of busted out windows.
Clearly two to three additions were added onto the original house structure.

Even at 10 am, this looked like something out of the Walking Dead.
I really really wanted to get in there, but I kept thinking,... nah, this is really really early in my trip.

The drive was otherwise uneventful, I stopped at an American Inn and enjoyed a guilty pleasure of a breakfast combined of waffles and fruit loops.
Stopping for stuff like this as a working artist is invaluable. Not just because I like to snoop around abandoned areas, but because after a while, you start to exhaust areas of reference around where you live. And a lot of times, you find some great places that uniquely look that particular way at that moment, and may not be there the next time you go looking for it.

Until the next part of this update, support your local artists, be kind to your fellow beings, and I'll see you next time! - Mario, the Artisan Rogue
