FreeState Comicon 10 years strong, and some extra shenanigans.

Saturday, Oct 3rd, marked the tenth show that Craig Klotz had put on. It was a blast, and thank you all who attended, for not only making it a lot of fun for me, but especially supporting Craig's shows for the last ten years. I had meant to have all of this up at the beginning of the week, but time schedules had put a damper on me doing that. Nonetheless, I got some pictures up now of the sketchboxes I did for the show, as well as a few shots of the show from my table point of view.

While you're looking over the pictures, you can fire up the episode for this 10th year anniversary show, over on Worst Comic Podcast Ever that spotlights this show.

Blue pencil, graphite, and initial outline work.

Yoda and Darth Maul

Kylo Ren and bb8

New Order Tie Fighter pilot and Boba Fett

Han Solo and Leia Organa

New Order Stormtrooper and Empire Royal Guard

Deathstroke commission, thanks Zachery!

A shot to the right of my table, with Josh Cotter and Ed Bickford.

I ended up signing a fair number of these.

Thanks to all of you...

and you guys as well!

A copy of the compiled collection of artwork that had been created for various FreeState shows made the rounds for Craig, and I drew in a little punk skull underneath the O. (Right two images) A Ben Grimm commission.
The show was great and a lot of fun as usual, and probably the best aspect for me is being able to catch up with people and not feel the rush or immediacy of larger shows. Craig, I hope you keep this show going for as long as you can, because there isn't another show that is like this one.

So for now, this is probably the last show of the year for me. I've got a massive rebuild of art to endeavor in, and some new projects rolling out soon.

Shenanigans and Goings Ons...

Sometimes I like to have a bit of fun at Hallmark. It's all in good fun, and I try to keep people's spirits high. I can't help it, it's the prankster in me....

About a week ago, I was overjoyed to find that the guy that fills our vending machines at work had brought a stock of Hawaiian Punch and put four rows deep of it in!
I had to voice my joy.
Ah the bliss, the joy oh joy that made my cubicle inhabiting nutty little self so happy. I was feeling like I was a kid all over again, and quickly found myself plunking quarters into it like I'd just made it past the 255th screen of Pac-Man. Which to those of you who've never played Pac-Man, that's actually a very big deal.

I saw the numbers of cans dwindle and wane, and this past Tuesday, I went to go see if it had been restocked...

It had been.

With a diet beverage selection.

My... GOD...

There was only one thing to do. I had to get Mr. Keanu Reeves involved, and misspell his last name in the process of having him speak on my behalf...

Not coming to a movie theatre near you, although it should.

Your move Soda Vending Machine Man. Your move.

Until next time, be kind to your fellow being, support your local artists, and enjoy the refreshing taste of Hawaiian Punch. - Mario, the Artisan Rogue
